KATHMANDU, NOV 08 - CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal said that expanding the Cabinet time and again is against the agreement made between the political parties.

In a program organised in the Capital, Rawal said that cabinet holds more members than it needs to.

Rawal said that the entire process of Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA) is flawed as it is done without consulting with the other parties. Saying that the execution of the seven-point deal is essential for the conclusion of peace and constitution, Rawal urged all the concerned stakeholders to join hands for the same.

However, speaking at the same program, Nepali Congress (NC) leader Arjun Narsingh KC said that signing BIPPA is a positive approach for the country as it has been done with other countries as well.

Saying that the extension of the Constituent Assembly (CA) deadline is against the people’s desire, KC said that seven-point pact dealing with the integration of the Maoist combatants should be executed within Nov 23. He said that without the execution of the pact there is no question of constitution or a national government.

Likewise, UCPN (Maoist) leader Dharmendra Bastola said that all the recent pacts including the four-point deal signed between Maoist and Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM), BIPPA and the seven-point deal on the integration of the Maoist combatants should be scrapped as they are done under the pressure of India.

Furthermore, he said that the seized properties would not be returned and stated that the present government should immediately resign to make way for a national government.
