Muslims celebrating Bakr-Eid today
KATHMANDU, NOV 07 -
Muslims all over the world have been celebrating Bakr-Eid on Monday. The festival, also known as Eid-al-Azha, is celebrated to commemorate the supreme sacrifice offered as the fulfilment of the divine order, according to the followers of Islam.
The devotees offer Eid prayers and Namaz (prayer) at the mosque in Ghantaghar to mark the day. Muslims exchange gifts and greetings to each other on this very day.
The three-day long celebration starts with prayer followed by oration that gives a message to all the people to celebrate the festival.
In view of Bakr-Eid, the government has announced a public holiday today.
