Vice-chairperson of the CPN-UML Bidya Devi Bhandari said there would be historical miracle only if the seven-point agreement was implemented.
Addressing a programme organised in the capital prior to the 18th General Convention of the International Democratic Youth Association (IDYA) in Portugal by the Youth Association of Nepal (YAN) close to UML, she said the seven-point agreement has created more confidence for peace and constitution writing processes.
Yogendra Shahi, who has twice served as the Vice-chairman of IDYA, has registered his candidacy for chairman this time. The General Convention will be held from November 8 to 13.
It will be a matter of pride for the whole South Asia if Shahi is elected the chairman, said Politburo member of UML, Pashupati Chaulagain.
An 11-member delegation that included alternative politburo member of UML and YAN's Europe In-charge Arun Nepal, UML Central Member Yogesh Bhattarai, YAN Chairman Mahesh Basnet, ANNFSU Chairman Madhav Dhungel will leave to participate in the general convention, today.
The IDYA that was established 66 years ago had been honored with Peace Message Award in 1910 for playing important contribution for the establishment of peace in the world. RSS
