Diarrhoea claims two in Saptari district

At least two person have died and as many as hundred affected due to diarrhoea outbreak in Tilathi of Saptari district.
The deceased have been identified as Thakani Devi Yadav (65) of Tilathi-4 and Niras Sutihar (15) of Tilathi-7, In-charge of Tilathi sub-health post Deependra Kumar Jha informed.
The deceased have long been in critical condition due to diarrhoea and died while undergoing treatment.
It has been gradually breaking out in the village, said locals. Over hundred of diarrhoea patients are getting treatment at camp conducted by the District Public Health Office in Tilathi while some of them are being admitted at Sagarmatha zonal hospital in Rajbiraj.
Chief District Officer of Saptari district Lekhnath Pokharel has issued directive to the District Public Health Office to take immediate measures to prevent diarrhea in the district.
All the concerned agencies are making efforts to control the diarrhoea outbreak, CDO Pokharel informed, urging all the health workers to get actively engaged in this campaign. RSS
