Dahal to meet UN Gen Secy Moon on Nov 8
KATMANDU, NOV 02 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also the coordinator of the Lumbini Development National Directive Committee, is scheduled to meet United Nations General Secretary Ban ki-Moon on November 8.
In a bid to prepare a master plan for the broader development of Lumbini, the government had formed the six-member committee under the chairmanship of Dahal.
Dahal and Nepali Congress leader Minendra Rijal are leaving for New York on November 5 to seek international assistance.
It has been learnt that the duo would urge Moon to form a broader Lumbini development international committee under his chairmanship.
Lumbini, the historic site located in Rupandehi district, some 300 km southwest of the capital city Kathmandu, was enlisted in the World Heritage Site in 1997.
The greater Lumbini comprises Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi districts and the Dahal-led panel will prepare the master plan with the help of experts. Minister
