Regrouping process to begin next week
KATHMANDU, NOV 02 - The regrouping of the UCPN (Maoist) combatants has been scheduled to begin from next week.
The meeting of the Special Committee for Supervision, Integration, and Rehabilitation of Maoist combatants on Wednesday has decided to draft a work plan for the same by Friday.
Spokesperson of the Special Committee, Madhav Prasad Ghimire said that the meeting has given the responsibility to present a proposal on the work plan to the Special Committee Secretariat. According to the Tuesday's seven-point agreement, the regrouping process should be completed by Nov 23.
Ghimire said that the meeting has welcomed the seven-point agreement forged between the major parties yesterday. He also said that the meeting has decided to immediately start working on the responsibilities given to the Special Committee.
Similarly, committee member Bhim Rawal lauded the agreement and tagged it as a "historic" document. He claimed that seven-point agreement would bring the peace process to its logical conclusion.
