INARUWA, OCT 30 - Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minster Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar on Sunday said the process to admit Madhesis in the Nepal Army (NA) as part of the bulk integration campaign is on the cards.

Inaugurating the newly-constructed Area Police Office in Harinagar, Sunsari district today, Gachhadar informed that the government is all set to integrate Madhesi youths in Nepal Army as per the four-point deal signed between the UCPN (Maoist) and the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) prior to the formation of current government.

Gachhadar, who is also looking after the defence ministry after his party leader Sarat Singh Bhandari was removed from the post following his controversial remarks, informed that the integration of Madhesi youths would be phase-wise. He added about 1000 to 2000 Madhesis would be integrated in the first owing to lack of resources.

The Home Minster said that he has directed the Nepal Police to maintain law and order in the nation although the institution lacks enough manpower and necessary equipments.

He, however, regretted the tread to put those who work honestly in difficulty.

In a different context, Gachhadar claimed that Nepal could be transformed into Singapore should the development work is not politicised.
