PM Bhattarai, Nepal discuss political issues
KATHMANDU, OCT 28 - Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Friday met with former Prime Minister and Senior UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal at the latter’s residence in Koteshwor, Kathmandu.
At the meeting, the duo discussed the army integration, constitution drafting, among other political issues, leader Nepal informed.
According to Nepal, PM Bhattarai explained him about the Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA) signed between Nepal and India during his recent visit to India.
Prime Minister Bhattarai have come under fire from several quarters including the hard-line faction of his party UCPN (Maoist) for signing the BIPPA, which he said is aimed at inviting foreign investors in Nepal.
PM Bhattarai has been making efforts on his party to forge a concrete deal on the stalled peace process.
Prime Minister Bhattarai took the opportunity to visit Nepal while he went to his brother Shiva’s residence in Koteshwor for Bhai Tika programme.
