Debate against BIPPA just for the sake of it: VP
KATHMANDU, OCT 26 -
Vice President Paramananda Jha on Wednesday said that the disputes that have risen against the Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA) are only for the sake of debate.
Speaking at a programme organised at the Reporters Club in the Capital Vice President Jha said BIPPA is very important to lure foreign investors into Nepal. He said the agreement would create a confidence for the investors at a time when foreign investors are hesitating to invest in Nepal.
Jha said that those who are against the BIPPA are protesting against it because they have presumed that it is only for India.
Speaking at the same programme, Janashakti Party Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa ruled out the possibility of new statute by Nov 30.
