Thapa urges Dahal not to criticise him
BUTUWAL, OCT 25 - UCPN (Maoist) General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa on Tuesday urged his party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal not to waste time by criticising and challenging him.
Talking to journalists in Butwal today, the Maoist general secretary challenged Dahal to criticise authoritarians, reactionists, expansionists and brokers if he could.
Thapa, who is close to Maoist hardliner leaders led by Vice Chairman Mohan Baidya, came down heavily upon Dahal, saying no one could breach the party’s policy, rule and decision in the capacity of being in the establishment faction.
Saying that he had urged Dahal to clarify about his mysterious visit as the media reports and general pubic have been raising voices that Dahal has links with India’s External Intelligence Agency—Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), Thapa said its better the chairman gave clarifications rather than challenge.
Thapa claimed that Prime Minister and party Vice Chairman Baburam Bhattarai breached the party directive by signing the Bilateral Investigation Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA) with India though the party had directed not to sign any controversial pacts.
The Maoist general secretary added that he would demand clarification from PM Bhattarai for signing the BIPPA.
