17 poachers made public
BHARATPUR, OCT 25 -
Seventeen poachers, who were held with rhino horns over the past week, were made public by the Royal Chitwan National Park on Tuesday.
They were made public amid a press conference organised at Kasara. Also publicised were the 900,000 (including Nepali and Indian currency) captured from them.
Hisi Lama, 70, of Kathmandu, Tenzing Nima Lama, 68, Angzing Lama, of Humla, Khim Bahadur KC of Pyuthan, Sushma Khanal of Pyuthan. The others who were arrested were Tilak Ram Chaudhary, Pitambar Mahato, Kusum Kumari Thanet, Rishikant Bastakoti, Jit Bahadur Mahato, Arjun Pangeni, Khir Narayan Chaudhary, all hailing from Nawalparasi.
The ones, who were caught in Chitwan, are Madari Mahato, Kishor Chaudhary, Leela Ram Mahato, Kamaan Singh Mahato and Birendra Sahani.
According to the officials at Royal Chitwan National Park, the arrestees would be held for 25 days in confinement, while the investigation continues.
