Distrust among parties delaying peace process, constitution
KATHMANDU, OCT 21 -
Nepali Congress General Secretary Prakash Man Singh has said that the twin tasks of peace process and constitution drafting have not moved ahead due to growing mistrust among the political parties.
Leader Singh made this remark at a sum-up function of the nine-day Self Leadership Development Training organised by Hamro Abhiyan Nepal in the capital on Friday.
He argued that the consensus to conclude the peace process within six months and complete the constitution drafting process within two years has not been materialized as the trust and understandings built among the parties during the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections were not followed in the present days.
It will take some more time to conclude the peace process since efforts are being made to explore the resolution within the country, leader Singh noted, adding time was being spent in finding out a meeting line between the Maoist combatants and professional army.
Consensus has not been reached on the army integration process in the absence of clear vision within the UCPN (Maoist), he claimed, adding the NC and UML were clear on their lines. RSS
