Big-three talks make headway
KATHMANDU, OCT 19 - The major three political parties—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML—have apparently moved closer to consensus to give momentum to the stalled peace process and statute-drafting.
In a three-party meeting convened at the Prime Minister’s Office in Baluwatar on Wednesday, the participated leaders have formed a three-member panel to carry out homework.
According to Prime Minister’s aide Bishwadeep Pandey, the team would draft an agreement proposal at the very meeting by this late this evening.
The top brass meeting scheduled for early on Thursday morning would finalise proposal, Baluwatar sources said.
The political parties have intensified parleys to forge consensus before the prime minister’s scheduled departure to India on Thursday.
Moreover, the Special Committee for Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of Maoist combatants meeting is also slated for tomorrow morning.
