TANAHU, OCT 16 - Two persons were killed when a Damauli-bound bus collided head-on with a motorbike approaching from the opposite direction in Jamune-4 along the Prithivi Highway on Sunday.
Birendra Shrestha, 20, of Jamune-9, Tanahu district and pillion rider Bishnu Rana, 20, of Jamune-1 were killed when the motorcycle (Ba 30 Pa 3475) they were riding collided with the bus (Na 4 Kha 1778).
Shrestha died on the spot while Rana was announced dead while undergoing treatment in Damauli Hospital, police informed. Both had suffered severe injuries on their heads, chest and thigh regions.
Vehicular movement along the highway was disrupted following the accident. The irate locals have demanded the driver to be booked as per the law and provide compensation to the family of the deceased, police inspector Bhim Prasad Silwal informed.
The bus and its driver are under the police custody.
