DHURKOT, OCT 12 -
A police has been killed in a clash at Nayagaun of Gulmi while settling the dispute between the two sides.
Police constable Surya Bahadur Thapa, 28, of Nayagaun police post was hacked to death in a scuffle that ensued between the two sides in cultural Saraya dance at the ground of Nayagaun VDC-5 on Tuesday night.
Severely injured in a Khukuri attack, Thapa, a local of Khilji-6 of Arghakhanchi district died while undergoing treatment in District Hospital Tamghas.
Thapa was assaulted with a sharp-edged weapon at 11 AM on Tuesday while he was mediating the dispute during the cultural programme in Nayagaun-5.
Police nabbed four suspects for the investigation, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rajkumar Baidbar.
A suspect of the incident is said to have absconded, police added. RSS
