ADB veep calls on PM Bhattarai
KATHMANDU, OCT 12 - Vice-chairman of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Xiaoyu Zhao, had a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai at the latter's office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Talking to journalists after the meeting, ADB Vice-chairman Zhao said the duo held discussions on ADB's support for the economic development of Nepal.
Zhao, who had come to participate in the energy conference to be held in the Capital from Thursday, discussed ADB's support for road, education, energy, and physical infrastructure development, on the occasion. He added that ADB and Nepal always had good relations.
Similarly, Indonesian non-resident Ambassador to Nepal Zet Mirzaz Za Innuddin also had a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai at the latter's office at Singha Durbar, today.
During the meeting, the two held talks on bilateral relations and cooperation between Nepal and Indonesia.
FM Pun meets Zhao
Similarly, Minister for Finance Barshaman Pun also met ADB Vice President Zhao at the Ministry of Finance, today.
During the meeting, Minister for Finance Pun told Zhao that the government had been continuously working for good governance, observing austerity and creating more employment opportunities.
According to Joint Secretary of the Foreign Aid Coordination Department under the ministry, Lalshanker Ghimire, Zhao assured to provide additional 100 million dollars to Nepal on the support that Nepal has been receiving.
Zhao is in Nepal to participate in a conference of energy forum being organised by the government and ADB jointly.
