Pokharel rules out possibility of timely statute
KASKI, OCT 11 -
CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel has ruled out the possibility of statute by November 30.
He claimed that timely statute is impossible due to the lack of progress on issues related to it.
Speaking at a press meet in Pokhara on Tuesday, leader Pokharel averred that the constitution was not viable on the stipulated time due to the lack of progress on the peace process.
“The UCPN (Maoist) is not committed to the issues of army integration, among others. Constitution is not possible until it shows honesty in the process,” he said.
He accused the Maoist of not being responsible in taking the peace process to a logical conclusion and timely statute.
Pokharel also said that the Maoist should take the responsibility if no constitution was drafted on time and added that the UML and the Nepali Congress would not shoulder the responsibility for that.
He also indicted that the country might get trapped in a perilous situation due to the extremist ideology of the Maoist.
