'Defense Minister’s expression to weaken nationalism'

KATHMANDU , OCT 01 - CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel has said that the statement given by Defense Minister Sarat Singh Bhandari is sure to weaken nationalism.
At a Dashain greetings exchange programme organized by the CPN-UML Kapan Village Committee on Saturday, he said this was a weakness on the part of the person no other than the defense minister himself.
This government could not move ahead works even if the NC and UML had both made commitment to cooperate on peace process and constitution writing, he added.
The UCPN (Maoist) should discuss with other parties by making a clear framework on the regrouping of the combatants, standards, rank and rehabilitation package regarding the peace process, said Pokharel, adding the Maoist party cannot conclude the peace process and constitution-writing on its own.
