Gachhadar scoffs at secy transfer criticism

In the teeth of fierce criticism stemming from the transfer of the home secretary, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar on Wednesday termed his rejig move merely a “regular process”.
Stating that there was no political motive in transferring Secretary Lila Mani Paudel to Prime Minister’s Office, DPM Gachchadar, who is also the officiating Prime Minister, said new Home Secretary Sushil Jung Rana is competent enough to perform mandated tasks.
Speaking at a press meet in the ministry, Gachchadar urged media to report facts without distorting the truth. He was responding to the recent media reports about alleged political motive behind the transfer of former Home Secretary Paudel. He termed the transfer “exceptional” quoting Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.
Likewise, he apprised the press about the initiatives being undertaken to provide relief to the victims of the recent earthquake. Gachchadar said the government has decided to form a taskforce to collect the details of the property damaged by the quake.
