‘Special package for conflict victims before Dashain’
KATHMANDU , SEP 21 -
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal has said that the government would bring in a special relief package for the families of those killed--at the hands of both the state and rebel--during the conflict period before Dashain.
Speaking at a programme organised by OREC Nepal in the capital on Wednesday, Dahal said his party had also committed to bring such programmes and will soon urge the government to form a special taskforce for the same.
He also informed that the Commission for Truth and Reconciliation and Disappearance Commission would be formed soon as per the Comprehensive Peace Accord.
On the occasion, Dahal expressed his assurance of ensuring 33 percent representation of woman in the next Cabinet reshuffle. He also informed that he has urged the government to form a taskforce in local level to curb the violence against women.
Speaking at the same programme, Chairman of CPN-UML, Jhala Nath Khanal, said his party is in favour of making 50 percent representation of woman in all the state organs.
Upendra Yadav, Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, remarked that not even 10 percent of women have not been represented contrary to the concept of 33 percent representation of women.
