New series of Dell products in market

KATHMANDU, SEP 21 -

Generation Next Communications, authorised distributor of Dell in Nepal, has unveiled a new series of Dell printers, projectors and monitors in the domestic market. The company has come up with two variants of laser printers, the Dell 1130 and the Dell 1130N, three variants of projectors, the Dell 1210S, 1410X and the 1510X, and monitors ranging from 17 inch to 24 inch.

“These new devices have been launched with a motive to provide the latest products from Dell to our customers,” said Aachal Shrestha, service in-charge at Generation Next Communications. According to Shrestha, Dell holds a significant market share in the domestic printer, projector and monitor market. “Because of the brand name and the nominal price, customers prefer Dell over other brands. This has also encouraged us to come up with the latest machines,” she said.

The Dell 1130 laser printer is an entry-level machine which can print up to 19 pages per minute (PPM) with a print resolution of 1200 dpi. The machine with the maximum monthly duty cycle of 10,000 pages per month features a 150 MHz processor and internal memory of 8 MB. The printer also features a high-speed USB port and is available for Rs 10,000.

Likewise, the other machine, the Dell 1130N, is a high performance device and a compact machine which can print up to 24 PPM. The machine is more productive compared to the Dell 1130 with its monthly duty cycle of up to 12,000 pages. The device also possesses high-speed USB connectivity and internal memory of up to 64 MB. It comes with a 360 MHz processor and is priced at Rs 12,500.

In the projector segment, the Dell 1210S is an entry-level projector with a projection distance of 3.28 ft to 39.37 ft. The machine can produce images in sizes ranging from 68 cm to 796.62 cm and brightness of 2500 ANSI lumens. The projector also features dual VGA connector for multiple presentations. The other device, the Dell 1410X, can project images from a minimum distance of 3.28 ft to 39.37 ft. Along with dual VGA connectors, the machine can produce brightness of 2700 ANSI lumens.

The most advanced one in the new line-up, the Dell 1510X projector is a 3D and Creston Roomview device which can project images from a distance of 3.9 ft to 32.8 ft. The machine can also screen 3D images and videos with a maximum brightness of up to 3500 ANSI lumens. According to Generation Next Communications, the projector gives sharp and clear visuals with XGA native resolution. The device can be connected with dual VGA connectors, USB port and HDMI connectors. The company has priced the 1210S projector at Rs 40,000, the 1410X at Rs 50,000 and the 1510X at Rs 55,000.

As far as monitors are concerned, there are two variants of flat monitors in the 17 inch segment. While the 17 inch square monitor is available for Rs 8,500, the rectangular one costs Rs 8,000. Generation Next has also unveiled an 18.5 inch LED monitor costing Rs 9,500, 20 inch LED monitor costing Rs 10,000, 21 inch LED monitor costing Rs 11,000, 22 inch LED monitor costing Rs 12,000, 23 inch LED monitor costing Rs 13,000 and a 24 inch LED monitor costing Rs 14,000.

All these products are available throughout the country through its dealers and sub-dealers. They have been imported from Malaysia and Singapore. Regarding warranty, the monitors come with a one-year replacement warranty while the printers and projectors come with a one-year service warranty.
