KATHMANDU, SEP 20 -  Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday stood against the party decision to dissolve its sister organisations.

Prior to the NC Central Committee meeting, a team of NC leaders led by party General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula had reached the residence of Deuba in Budhanilkandha, Kathmandu to forge consensus with disagreeing Deuba faction. It has been understood that Deuba, in return, said he would not accept such decision to dissolve the sister organisations at any cost.

On the other hand, NC President Sushil Koirala has been arguing that the sister organisations must be dissolved as the leadership in those organisations cannot organise party General Assembly.

According to leader Bal Bahadur KC, who was also in the meeting, said Deuba expressed his dissastiscation over the decision to form an ad hoc committee to set the date for party General Convention. He added the party Central Committee (CC) would now resolve the contentious issue.

The NC CC has been summoned for later this afternoon.

President Koirala has landed in hot soup after the two dissenting factions of the party staged sit-in outside the party headquarter in Balkhu.
