Strike paralyses Chitwan

CHITWAN, SEP 19 -

Normal life in Chitwan has been crippled on Monday due to the strike called by the locals protesting against the murder of Biraj Biswokarma, 15, of Mangalpur VDC-8 of West Chitwan.

Biswokarma was murdered on Sunday afternoon when a gang of some 15 persons attacked him while he was taking rest at home. Bishwikarma died on the way while being rushed to Bharatpur for the treatment.

The family members and relatives of the deceased and locals halted the vehicular movement in different parts of the district along the East-West Highway from 8:00 this morning.

Hundreds of passengers and vehicles have been stranded at Gaindakot of Nawalparasi district following the strike.

Police have arrested three persons on the charge of murder case. The arrestees include Satish Lama and Amir Lama of Sharadanagar-8 and Bibek Maharjan of Managalpur, said the police.
