KATHMANDU, SEP 16 -

Nepal Airlines Corporation General Manager (GM) KB Limbu on Friday claimed that Chairman Manrup Shahi captured his office and stopped him from carrying out his official duties.

Speaking at a programme in Reporters Club in the capital on Friday, Limbu accused Shahi of breaching the rule of law in defiance of the Supreme Court (SC) order.

Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal-led government, Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma, had appointed Shahi as the NAC chairperson on June 29 following the power-tussle between then NAC Chairman Sugat Ratna Kansakar and GM Limbu.

The SC verdict on September 16 had reinstated Limbu as the NAC general manager. However, Shahi has not vacated the office even after Limbu reinstatement.

“I went to office as per the Supreme Court verdict,” said Limbu at the programme, “However, he (Shahi) has been forcefully occupying the office.”

He condemned the behaviour of Shahi saying there was no scarcity of morality in the NAC.

“I am being barred from entering into my office, what sort of attitude is this?” said Limbu, hinting at Shahi behaviour. “This will affect the image of national flag carrier.”

Limbu’s tenure ends after four months. “I would initiate the process to buy new aircraft as soon as I take charge of my duties,” he said.

Chairman Shahi is a UCPN (Maoist) cadre from Kalikot district, the home district of former minister Bishwakarma.
