22-hr power cut in Rukum

RUKUM, SEP 09 -
Rukum district has had daily 22-hour load shedding from Thursday for indefinite time.
The power outage has been scheduled for 22 hours after technical glitch surfaced in one of the main machines used to generate power at Banphikot VDC-8, Bhagle.
Bhagle hydro power company informed that the house’s capacity to generate power has been decreased to two hours a day after its machine saw technical problem.
The machine was repaired four months ago having spent Rs 400,000.
According to Chairperson of Rukumeli Energy Electricity Users´ Committee Jokh Bahadur Malla, technical snag gripped the machine soon though a company repaired the machine with the warranty of six months.
The powerhouse has the capacity of generating 250 Kilowatt of electricity from which locals of five VDCs including the district headquarters have been benefited from the electricity service.
