The foreign dignitaries are scheduled to attend the dinner hosted by Indian Minister of State for External Affairs E.Ahmed on the same day of their arrival. The meeting will be inaugurated on Thursday followed by panel discussions on topics like achievements and challenges of Saarc, business opportunities in banking, telecom and airlines, which contribute to the major theme of SAF meeting "Integration in South Asia: Moving towards a South Asian Economic Union".
The final day will see the deliberations on climate change, poverty alleviation, culture and South Asian identity.
What is SAF ?
At the 16th Saarc summit held in Bhutan last year, the member countries had agreed to establish a South Asia Forum for the generation of debate, discussion and exchange of ideas on South Asia and its future development. Its objective has been set to promote the concept of a South Asian Community and South Asian Economic Union. SAF meets once a year and will report its action-oriented outcomes to the Saarc summits.
