People’s Movement didn’t topple monarchy: Thapa
KASKI, AUG 27 - Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) Chairman Kamal Thapa on Saturday claimed that the monarchy was not toppled by the People’s Movement.
Speaking at a programme organised in Pokhara today, the RPP-N chair added that the People’s Movement was only used as the means to conspire against the monarchy.
“There was no situation to speak for the last four years and only now I am speaking,” said Thapa. “I have the proof of how the monarchy was sidelined.”
He said that it would not be appropriate to extend the term of the Constituent Assembly at the status quo and demanded a fresh mandate.
Thapa even accused the political parties of walking the wrong path that pushed the nation into crisis.
