Parties intensify political consultations on eve of PM poll
KATHMANDU, AUG 27 -
With just a day before the final showdown for the Prime Ministerial race, Nepali Congress and (UCPN) Maoist have escalated political parleys to garner their bid for the premiership.
Candidate duo Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Ram Chandra Poudel knocked the doors of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) to foster their chances for the country’s top berth.
Similarly, Maoist team led by Dina Nath Sharma, met Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party Chairman Narayan Man Bijukchhe for his support in the poll.
Bhattarai is also scheduled to visit Bijukchhe later at 4 this afternoon.
Emerging from the meeting, Sharma expressed his positive optimism on the formation of Maoist-led government with the support of UML, Madhesh- based political parties and other fringe parties.
NC has already unveiled its roadmap with a view of taking UML and Madhesh-based parties in confidence whereas Maoist Vice Chairman Mohan Baidya bade farewell to the combatants deployed in his security as per the deal to end the dual security system.
Meanwhile UML and Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) are also busy in internal parleys.
