NC, UML to accept Maoist-led govt on condition
KATHMANDU, AUG 15 - The Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML on Monday agreed to accept UCPN (Maoist)-led government if the latter presents a work calendar to logically conclude the peace process and forge consensus among the political parties on it.
Speaking at a programme organised in the Reporter’s Club, UML Secretary Shankar Pokharel and NC central member Arjun Narsing KC revealed such statement.
Reiterating his party’s decision not to accept the Maoist-led government sans conclusion of peace process, KC said that he has presented an agenda in the party to accept the Maoist leadership if the former rebel brings a logical calendar to conclude the peace process.
Likewise, UML leader Pokharel clarified that his party would not object in the formation of Maoist-led government if a concrete action plan on the peace process is presented.
He added that the UML would not accept the Maoist leadership without consensus on a package of integration standard, modality, rank and rehabilitation.
