Foreign forces derailing peace, statute: Gurung
KATHMANDU, AUG 14 - UCPN (Maoist) Standing Committee member Dev Gurung has alleged that the intervention of the foreign forces has derailed the peace and statute drafting processes.
Speaking at a programme in Butwal, Rupandehi district on Sunday, the Maoist leader added that the foreign forces have even started to interfere into nation’s petty issues.
He said that there was no alternative to extend the tenure of the Constituent Assembly after its expiry on Aug 31. Gurung said that the reasons behind the failure to draft a new constitution should be reviewed.
The Maoist leader also said that the prime minister should not resign from his post until the basis for the formation of a national consensus government is formed.
