Dahal arrives from Malaysia
KATHMANDU, AUG 10 -
UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Wednesday clarified that he left for Malaysia to participate in a discussion organised for the development of Lumbini.
Speaking to the media personnel upon his Malaysia tour at the Tribhuwan International Airport, Dahal said, he held discussions with the representatives from America, Australia, South Korea, and other countries, for the development of Lumbini at the meeting of Asia Pacific Exchange Cooperation (APEC).
He added that the development project will be initiated with India and China.
Dahal left for Malaysia at a time when APEC has been dragged into controversy following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of US $ 3 billion on a Lumbini development project with UNIDO, where Dahal is the joint chairman.
Dahal had reached Kula Lumpur on Monday, and stayed at a hotel at Bukit Aman with his son Prakash and party leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
In another context, Dahal said Nepal's politics will move ahead as per the five-point deal.
Also on the occasion, Dahal said attempts will be made to forge consensus on contentious issues following Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal's recovery.
