Maoist, UML top brass talks inconclusive
KATHMANDU, JUL 26 - The talks held by top leaders of the UCPN (Maoist) and CPN-UML at the Prime Minister's office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu ended inconclusively. The parties are slated to convene at 8 am tomorrow again.
The leaders are said tio have discussed upon the issue of Cabinet reconstitution after the Maoists submitted its nomination-list proposing to reshuffle its cabinet representatives under the leadership of Maoist Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Vice Chairmen Mohan Baidya, Baburam Bhattarai, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, while UML Chairman and Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, senior leader KP Sharma Oli and General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel were present at the meeting.
The meeting came at a time when the ruling ally CPN-UML and main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) had been rejecting the Maoist proposal to reshuffle the Cabinet.
The long-drawan Maoist Central Committee meeting had endorsed Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's proposal on peace, constitution and Cabinet reshuffle, settling the growing dissatisfaction within the party for the time being.
