KATHMANDU, JUL 26 - Nepal Shitoryu Karate Association has been dissolved by the member secretary of National Sports Council (NSC) Yuba Raj Lama for not holding elections for the last nine years.

Lama also declared a new 16 member Association headed by president Dawa Gurung to replace the old one on Monday. According to Lama, NSC’s meeting held on Sunday had decided to dissolve the old association and form a new one instead.

He also accused the association of disgracing the sports fraternity by distributing black belt as per their will throughout the country. “Recently it also sent players to participate in the Asian Karate Federation Championship in China without seeking permission for NSC,” Lama accused the dissolved association headed by Purendra Bikram Lakhe.

“These behaviours forced us to use action in order to stop further wrong doings.”

He also informed that an investigative committee has already been formed to find out the mistakes of the axed association. Dev Kumar Lama, Majindra Singh and Keshav Singh Thakuri are the newly appointed vice presidents while Mahesh Kumar Shrestha is the general secretary.  Similarly, Gajendra Bahadur Khapangi and Ramesh Lal Lama are the secretary and Treasurer respectively.
