Home Minister Mahara resigns
KATHMANDU, JUL 25 - Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara has resigned from his post of Monday.
Mahara tendered his resignation through UCPN (Maoist) party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today.
The resignation letter has already been handed over to Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, Mahara’s press coordinator Manoj Magar said.
Mahara’s tendered his resignation after the Central Committee meeting of his party Maoist endorsed the proposal of Chairman Dahal to reshuffle Cabinet ministers.
According to the endorsed proposal, a team led by Maoist Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha would replace the current Maoist representatives led by Mahara in the Cabinet.
