Govt denounces Norway attack

KATHMANDU, JUL 23 - President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav have condemned the twin attacks in Norway that led to killing over 90 people.
In separate messages of condolences to the King of Norway Harald V, the president said, “I am deeply saddened to hear the news about the loss of precious lives and property in the bomb blast in Oslo and the indiscriminate firing in the Island of Utoeya in Norway.” We denounce and strongly condemn such dastardly acts of terrorism, said the president. “At this hour of grief, on behalf of the Government and the people of Nepal as well as on my own, I extend to Your Majesty our heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies. I also send our profound sympathies to the members of the bereaved families and the friendly people of Norway,” the statement reads.
Likewise, in his message to his Norwegian counterpart Jens Stoltenberg, the Prime Miniter Khanal said, “I am shocked at the news of the dastardly act of bomb blast in Oslo and the indiscriminate shooting at innocent people in the Island of Utoeya in Norway causing loss of scores of precious human lives and property. We strongly condemn such acts of terrorism in all forms and manifestations.”
Similarly, in his message to Norwegian counterpart Jonas Gahr Store, DPM Yadav has said, “I am awe-struck to hear the news about the loss of precious lives and property on account of the terrorist bomb blast in Oslo and the indiscriminate terrorist shooting in the Island of Utoeya in Norway. We strongly condemn such cowardly acts of terrorism.”
