KATHMANDU, JUL 20 - A visiting delegation of Indian industrialists and entrepreneurs on Wednesday met Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara and enquired about the security of Indian investments.

The meeting, held at the Home Ministry, focused on the investment possibilities of Indian industries in Nepal. The seven-member delegation was led by Griffith Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. Managing Director Shyam Mohan.

Mohan said that he is interested to invest in areas that are working for education, agriculture, tourism and hydroelectricity. According to Mahara’s press coordinator Manoj Gharti Magar, the delegation showed concern about the security and demanded security guarantee for the investments.

In response, Minister Mahara said that the investment climate is gradually improving in Nepal in the recent times and vowed that the government would take the guarantee of the security of investments.

“On behalf of the Nepali government, I request the Indian industrialists and entrepreneurs to invest in Nepal. The environment for investing in our country is improving and I assure that your investment would be completely secured,” said Mahara.
