Finnish Charge de Affaires pays farewell call on PM
KATHMANDU, JUL 12 - The Charge de Affaires of Finland to Nepal, Pirkko Liisa Kyostila, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu on Tuesday.
According to a press statement issued by PM’s advisor Milan Raj Tuladhar, Kyostila is leaving the country on July 22.
During the meeting, the prime minister expressed his appreciation of the contribution made by Kyostila in developing friendship between the two countries.
In response, Kyostila assured Finnish government’s continued support to Nepal for peace and development.
“Finland is upgrading the mission in Nepal to ambassador level and the ambassador designate Mr. Asko Luukainen will take up the assignment from September 2011,” the statement quoted her as telling the prime minister.
