One electrocuted in Khotang; another stabbed

KHOTANG, JUL 12 - An employee of North Lidhung Khola Hydro Electricity Project was electrocuted after he came in contact with a high voltage electric circuit here in the district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh Karki, 26, a resident of Tilanga-8 in Solukhumbu.
According to DSP Basanta Kumar Thapa of District Police Station Khotang, Karki died due to high voltage current from the transformer. His body was airlifted in a helicopter to Solukhumbu the same day. He was working as a technician in the project for the past three years.
Meanwhile, in another separate incident, an inebriated person stabbed one Pratap Rai, 18, a resident of Nirmalidanda-5, Khotang, leaving him critically injured.
Rai, who sustained injuries in his head following the attack, has been undergoing treatment in district hospital, police said.
The drunken assaulter has been identified as Parshuram Bhujel and has fled after the attack.
Police have been searching for Bhujel.
