Govt offices told to clear water bill dues
KATHMANDU, JUL 11 - The Legislature-Parliament Development Committee on Monday directed the concerned government offices to clear their water bill dues to Kathmandu Upatyeka Khanipani Limited (KUKL).
According to KUKL, the dues payable by government offices amounts to a whopping Rs 50 million. KUKL hasn’t been able to pay revenue to the government owing to long standing dues.
Holding a meeting, the parliamentary committee, endorsing the reports of its sub-committees, directed all government offices to immediately clear the water bill dues, said Committee’s Chairman Jitendra Prasad Sonal.
It had formed six sub-committees to study Kathmandu-Terai Fast Trace, Integrated Karnali Development Project, People’s Settlement Programme, Sisneri-Dakshinkali Road, Mid-Hill Highway and KUKL.
Sonal said the reports will be forwarded to implanting bodies. Minister for Physical Construction and Work Top Bahadur Rayamajhi said the Parliament’s committee and the ministry were supporting bodies to each other and expressed commitment to implement its directions. RSS
