Half-dozen TJPM cadres held with weapons

RAJBIRAJ, JUL 05 -  

Rajbiraj police detained half a dozen leaders and cadres of the Tarai Janatantrik Party Madhes (TJPM), an underground Tarai outfit, over the past three days.

The detainees have been identified as Fanilal Sah aka ‘Santosh’, Birendra Prasad Sah ‘Prashant’, Tri Bandhu Sah, Suraj Narayan Mahato ‘Bibek’, Indal Kumar Sah ‘Patthar Singh’ and Santosh Sah ‘Kali Charan’. The arrestees are said to be district secretary, district incharge, district level leader and other cadres of the armed group.

According to Inspector Bhuwaneshwor Sah, police have confiscated four short-barreled pistols, 10 rounds of bullet, cell phones, and donation receipt pad, among other things.

Among the detainees, Tri Bindu Sah has been charged with donation-terror whereas the others have been charged with possession of illegal weapons. They are currently behind the bars at the District Police Office.
