Truck plunges into Trishuli; two swept away
CHITWAN, JUL 01 - A Kathmandu-bound truck skidded off the road and plunged into the Trishuli river at Setidobhan in Mugling-Narayangad stretch of Tribhuvan highway at 2 pm on Friday. The driver and the helper of the truck were swept away, Chitwan District Police said.
Police have been conducting search operation. But it was not immediately clear whether there any other passengers in the ill-fated truck.
The vehicle bearing Indian registration number plate (HR 55 K 6040) was transporting food stuff from Birgunj.
The search operation has been affected due to the high current in the river with incessant rainfall lashing the area. Locals and the police are trying to find the missing truck. The water level in the Trishuli and the Narayani river have reached this year’s highest.
