VIRGINIA, USA, JUN 29 -

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala said on Wednesday that the processes of peace and statute drafting have failed to gain momentum because the UCPN (Maoist) did not abide by the agreements forged in the past, including the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA).

Speaking at a programme organised by the Virginia-chapter of Nepali Public Relations Committee in the US, Koirala said that the NC would not tolerate any activity that would cripple the fundamental rights of a person.

He added that the progresses attained so far are at risk of reversal and the nation might plunge into a crisis yet again owing the behaviour of the Maoist.

In a different context, Koirala underlined that bulk integration of the Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) combatants was unacceptable.
