KASKI, JUN 28 -

CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal said on Monday that the peace process could not be piloted to its logical conclusion due to the ultra-leftist conflict within the UCPN (Maoist).

Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Chautari Nepal in Kaski today, Nepal urged the Maoist to finalise the combatants' number for the integration, prepare modality and measure at the earliest.

He reiterated that the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) did not mention about the integration of Maoist combatants in Nepal Army.

“The CPA just outlined that the Maoist combatants must be integrated into the Nepali security force,” Nepal added.

In a different context, he underscored that the UML must move ahead resolving the differences of opinion within itself and taking institutional decisions that are applicable to all leaders.

Nepal said that Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal must not resign from the post until an alternative to the current government was discovered.
