Nun gang-raped in Sankhuwasabha
KHANDBARI, JUN 26 - A Buddhist nun was raped by a gang of five persons in Sabhakhola of Khandbari Municipality-13, Sankhuwasabha district on Saturday night.
The alleged rapists have been identified as Raju Limbu, 21, of Terathum, Sobit Magar, 17, of Dhankuta, Bhuwan Gurung, 24, of Sankhuasabha, Drodbahadur Rai, 27, of Itahari and Avisek Magar, 18, of Dharan.
The nun, a resident of Khatamma, Bhojpur district, who was fell unconscious following the gang-rape was rushed to a primary health care center in Chainpur. But later taken to BP Koirala Institute of Health and Sciences in Dharan after its services were found inadequate. She had not regained her consciousness by the time this report was filed.
The alleged rapists took the nun inside a bus (bearing number plate Na 2 Kha 1395) belonging to Bhawana Travels and raped her one after another, police said. One of the rapists, Limbu is the driver of the bus.
Police have taken the bus and the rapers into custody and investigating the incident.
