CC subcommittee unable to resolve disputes: Gurung
KATHMANDU, JUN 22 - UCPN (Maoist) leader Dev Gurung has remarked on Wednesday that the Dispute Resolution Subcommittee of the Constitutional Committee (CC) was insignificant.
Speaking at the Legislature-Parliament session today in the Capital, he claimed that the subcommittee formed under the leadership of UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal would not resolve any disputes seen in the statute drafting processes.
The Maoist leader opined that the disputed issues in the constitution writing process should be solved from the Constituent Assembly (CA) through majority voting. He added that the general public should be given chance to make their own recommendations once the first draft of the statute was prepared from the CA.
In the House session, Nepali Congress (NC) leaders said that the integration process of the Maoist combatants and the statue drafting process were interrelated.
