Gagan Thapa urges YAN to handover Basnet

KATHMANDU, JUN 22 - Nepali Congress (NC) leader Gagan Thapa has urged the Youth Association Nepal (YAN) to hand over Parshuram Basnet, the main accused in the attack of Biratnagar-based journalist Khila Nath Dhakal, to the administration.
Speaking at a programme organised in the Capital on Wednesday, the NC leader said that the group directly aligned with the ruling party—CPN-UML—has defied the law.
He added that this has posed serious question on implementation of the law to others.
On the other hand, YAN Chairman Mahesh Basnet has challenged by announcing that Parshuram Basnet will not be handed over to the police but will be directly made available at the court.
