CPN-UML Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam warned on Saturday that the escalating factionalism within the party might lead to its division.
Talking to the mediapersons in Dhankuta, Gautam said that it was saddening to hear the news regarding UML senior leaders’ providing political protection to those involved in the assault on Biratnagar-based journalist Khila Nath Dhakal.
He added that actions would be taken against UML leaders as well provided that the allegations were proved correct.
On the occasion, he appealed to Youth Association Nepal (YAN) Chairman Mahesh Basnet not to make comments that might tarnish the UML’s public image.
Claiming that a crucial agreement for peace and timely statute would be forged within a few days, Gautam expressed confidence that the ongoing processes of peace and statute drafting would be accomplished within the stipulated timeframe.
