PM, Prez discuss 5-pt pact, budget
KATHMANDU, JUN 16 -
Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal convened a consultation with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at Shital Niwas on Thursday.
It is learnt that the meeting dwelt on the issues of implementation of the 5-point pact forged among the major three parties—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC), and CPN-UML—prior to the extension of the Constituent Assembly (CA)’s term, ongoing processes of peace and statute drafting, and the government’s preparations on announcing the budget for fiscal year 2067-68.
Emerging after the meeting, PM Khanal informed that President Yadav was briefed about the political developments after the CA’s term extension and the government’s endeavours to present the budget on consensus basis.
