Court seeks clarification on power cuts
NEPALGUNJ, JUN 14 -
Appellate Court Neplgunj has ordered the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to appear before the court with the reason of the increasing load-shedding within five days.
The appellate court ordered the NEA’s distribution sector, Mid-western Area Office and District Administration Office, Banke to appear before the court.
A single bench of justice Ramesh Pokhrel issued the order in response to a writ filed by the legal professionals, demanding prohibitory order and the Supreme Court’s intervention against load shedding.
Advocate Lok Bahader Shah had filed the writ two days ago in which NEA’s offices - Energy Ministry, District Administration Office and other 10 offices - have been made the defendants.
The sectors have been given 15 days’ time to show up before the court with clarifications on the increasing load shedding hours.
