KATHMANDU, JUN 05 - The Nepal Police Headquarters has scrapped on Sunday the decision to transfer Superintendent of Police (SPs) that was made right after Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara assumed his ministerial duty.

Earlier on May 4, the Police Headquarters under the government’s directive had decided to transfer 65 SPs.

It has been reported that newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Rabindra Pratap Shah would prepare the new list of transfer.

At least 30 SPs had already taken their responsibilities following the transfer decision.

However, Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara had directed the police headquarters to stall the transfer for the time being, saying that the decision was taken hastily at a time when he was taking the oath of office and secrecy.
